With this application, the main map and the elements necessary for
understanding it (legend, map scale, etc.) may be exported as a pdf file in good
quality. These files can be stored or print on paper. By pressing the tab "print",
a dialogue window appears where the parameters for creating the pdf file can be
selected. These parameters are:
- choice of a title and a footer
- format: A4 or A3
- layout of the page: landscape or portrait
- the resolution of the file: 72, 96 or 150 dpi. Usually a better resolution
requires more preparation time and generates a larger file.
- the insertion of additional elements: map scale bar, overview map,
list of attributs of the objects.
- The placement of the legend. This can either be included into the map, printed out on a separate side or be omitted.
Note: pdf files with high resolution and considerable area can reach easily several MByte.
Consequently their transmission take long time, particularly with low capacity networks.
